Director Administration

Job Title: Director Administration (Administration Department)

Classified Grade: Management

Reports to:  Commissioner-General

Responsible for:  All staff in the Administration Department

Job: Purpose:

  • The Director Administration will work with the Commissioner-General and Management to advice and deliver all administrative functions relating to the maintenance of all equipment and machinery, provide logistical support to all areas including Stores, Transport and Estate Management throughout the Authority

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide appropriate advice on all matters relating to the administrative functions of the Authority in the areas Estate Management, Maintenance Engineering, Logistics and Stores Management
  2. Advice on all developmental and expansion projects of the Authority in line with changes that may occur during the rolling-out of the modernization programme.
  3. To pursue and implement plans for the acquisition of an NRA House and other infrastructural development
  4. Management of existing NRA’s accommodation including liaison with owners of properties.
  5. Maintenance of all Authority machinery, equipment and assets
  6. Transportation, fuel and logistics management
  7. Stores management
  8. Develop appropriate policies from time to time to ensure proper utilization and effective functioning of the administrative matters of the Authority.
  9. Develop and manage effective Security Services for the Authority
  10. Any other duty as may be assigned by the Commissioner-General

Qualification and Experience:

  1. Minimum if a masters degree in Administration or similar discipline with bias in Maintenance Engineering.
  2. A minimum of five (5) years of managerial experience at comparable level in a large organisation with demonstrable knowledge of the following:
  • Maintenance Engineering
  • Assets Management
  • General Administration
  • Material Resource Management
  • Estate Management

Competency Requirements:

  1. Ability to manage projects for efficient and timely delivery of project plans
  2. Negotiation and Management skills
  3. Should be able to cope with complex tasks in a pressured environment
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  5. Must be able to take initiative
  6. Proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Work, Excel and Power Point.
