A team from the National Revenue Authority- Sierra Leone led by the Assistant Commissioner for Border Controls and Management, John Bernard Amara is on a benchmarking tour to the Liberia Revenue Authority’s (LRA) Customs Department. The tour aims to enhance collaboration on border management and counter-smuggling efforts through its customs department, the delegation has started engaging in experience sharing and exchange of innovative ideas aimed at improving operational efficiency and collaboration in tackling cross-border challenges.
The visit seeks to emphasize the importance of regional cooperation in strengthening customs practices and enhancing security measures to combat smuggling activities effectively. The LRA Customs Commissioner, Saa Samoi expressed that it’s timely for the two institutions to tap into the expertise of each other free of charge.
As part of their visit, they also paid a courtesy call to H.E. Lusine Kallon Deputy Ambassador for Sierra Leone to Liberia to further inform him about the initiative to reinforce diplomatic relations and highlighting the significance of regional cooperation in tackling cross-border challenges.
