COLLABORATING FOR COMPLIANCE: NRA ENGAGES LARGE TAXPAYERS

On November 19th, the National Revenue Authority (NRA) held a meeting with Large Taxpayers to enhance tax compliance and strengthen ties with the business community. The gathering included representatives from businesses with a turnover of Five Million New Leones and above. Commissioner General Mrs. Jeneba J. Bangura informed the taxpayers about the Three Day taxpayer engagement starting with the Large Taxpayers followed by the Medium Taxpayers and Tax Advisors in the coming days. According to her, the purpose of the meeting was to appreciate taxpayers, listen to their concerns and address them. She equally urge them to imbibe compliance and further stressed on the importance of transparency and accountability for a healthy tax environment. She highlighted recent reforms that have received positive feedback from development partners and civil society. Mrs. Bangura concluded by reasserting NRA's commitment to fostering collaboration, noting that partnership is vital for economic growth and effective revenue mobilization. This engagement signifies a step forward in enhancing tax compliance and promoting a culture of cooperation.
