A delegation from Ministry of Finance (MoF), National Revenue Authority (NRA) and Petroleum Regulatory Agency (PRA) is in Kampala, Uganda on a benchmarking visit for the implementation of the country's Digital Tracking Systems. Sierra Leone through the NRA is on the verge of commencing the implementation of Products Tracing System (PTS)
The PTS is a track and trace solution from production and/or importation to distribution. It requires the affixation of digital tax stamps by manufacturers and/or importers using both manual and automated processes. The system combats illicit trade, protects consumers from substandard and counterfeit products in the market and protects government revenue. It will be used by manufacturers, importers, distributors and retailers of excisable goods in the country.
The system will commence implementation on Thursday February 1, 2024.
