As part of its commitment to modernizing revenue administration, the National Revenue Authority (NRA), in collaboration with Blue Ribbon Solutions SL Limited, conducted training for regional staff of the Ministry of Lands, Housing and County Planning on the Non-Tax Revenue (NTR) Mobile Payment Application at Youyi Building, Freetown.
The training equipped participants with practical skills to effectively utilize the digital platform, while live demonstrations enhanced their understanding of the payment process. To support the rollout of the system across regional offices, the NRA also handed over fourteen (14) tablets to the Deputy Minister of Lands, Mrs. Phylis Kapu Kormoh, who was also present at the gathering.
Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Lands, Mr. Abdulrahman M. Fofana, described the initiative as a key step towards public sector digitalization and encouraged staff to embrace the technology to improve service delivery. He further called for continued collaboration and support to ensure the successful implementation of the system.
Deputy Commissioner-General 1, Mrs. Ann-Marie Baby Harding, reaffirmed the NRA’s commitment to partnering with the Ministry of Lands, noting that digital solutions are essential for enhancing efficiency, transparency, accountability, and convenience in revenue collection.
The Acting Professional Head of Lands, Mr. Tamba S. Dauda, commended the NTR Mobile App for improving revenue verification and accountability, highlighting its advantages over previous manual processes.
The initiative reflects the NRA’s ongoing efforts to leverage technology to strengthen revenue administration and improve public service delivery across government institutions.
