The 8th High-Level Policy Dialogue (HLPD) and 23rd General Assembly of the West African Tax Administration Forum (WATAF) has officially commenced in Accra, Ghana, bringing together key stakeholders from across West Africa and beyond to deliberate on strengthening tax administrations and advancing sustainable domestic revenue mobilisation.
The event commences with a strong opening statement by the Chairperson of the WATAF Council, Talato Elaine Djiguemde-Ouedraogo reflecting the spirit of the theme.
The five-day gathering, which runs from 15th - 19th September 2026, is being held under the theme, “Building Stronger Tax Administrations for Revenue Mobilisation and Sustainable Development.”
The event brings heads of tax administrations, policymakers, development partners, private-sector representatives and international tax experts to explore practical strategies around digital transformation, taxpayer compliance, innovation, environmental fiscal policy, regional cooperation and emerging international tax reforms.
The Sierra Leone National Revenue Authority’s team is led by the Deputy Commissioner General ll, Edmond B. Nonie, who’s committed to making an apt representation on behalf of Sierra Leone.
