The National Revenue Authority (NRA), led by Commissioner General Mrs. Jeneba J. Bangura, has successfully completed a comprehensive renovation of the Jendema Border Crossing Point Community Health Center. This initiative, part of the NRA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, has significantly upgraded healthcare infrastructure and improved service delivery in the Jendema community.
The renovation was driven by Mrs. Bangura’s transformational leadership and executed by the Jendema Customs Office under the NRA resident Manager Mujiru I. I. Kallon. The project began with the removal of the old, leaking zinc roof, followed by raising the building’s gable to improve ventilation and structural integrity. A new zinc roof was installed to ensure long-term protection of the facility.
Inside the health center, new ceilings were fitted, and the entire building was electrified with the addition of a solar power system to guarantee a reliable and sustainable energy supply vital for uninterrupted healthcare services. The facility was also freshly painted and furnished with essential furniture, creating a clean and welcoming environment for both patients and healthcare workers.
The renovation was carried out with the patronage of Paramount Chief Mustapha J. Massaquoi III of Sorogbema Chiefdom, who appointed a local oversight committee to ensure transparency and community involvement. The committee included Chiefdom Youth Chairman Mr. Taillu Massaquoi, Chiefdom Security Coordinator Mr. Mohamed Rogers, and Town Chief Hajji Sheriff, all of whom played key roles in supervising the project.
Special acknowledgment to Mr. King from the Office of the First Lady and Mr. Salim Feika for their valuable contributions to the successful completion of the renovation.
This project highlights the effective collaboration between national institutions and traditional authorities and marks the NRA’s expanding role as a development partner dedicated to enhancing the lives of Sierra Leoneans. Under CG Bangura’s visionary leadership, the NRA continues to demonstrate that good governance, community engagement, and social responsibility are essential to building a healthier and more prosperous Sierra Leone.
