The MRP department is one of the fundamental Support Departments of the National Revenue Authority since its formation in 2002, originally established for Research and Development (R&D). With the eventual restructuring of the NRA departmental make-up, the Department’s functions were streamlined to comprise research, statistics, corporate planning, forecasting, policy analysis, and monitoring, hence the name Monitoring, Research, and Planning (MRP) Department.
FUNCTIONS
The department is responsible for technical reporting of NRA activities and deliverables including the writing of Annual Reports and other reports requested by Government Authorities and development partners.
It functions as the center to analyze data from the databases of revenue systems to inform compliance improvement and tracking.
It undertakes policy analysis and costings that help inform the formulation of tax policies, laws, and regulations.
